Jay O’Connor

Jay advises organisations on how they listen, connect and engage with their stakeholders. Her expertise includes business planning, governance, transformation and change management, including experience in post M&A integration. She advises organisations on the development of engagement programmes that are clearly linked to mission, vision and values, working with senior executive, business planning and strategy teams.

Previously Jay co-founded, built and sold an award-winning public relations consultancy that worked with UK and international organisations. She has worked across a broad range of sectors including manufacturing, engineering, technology, health and education and was President of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in 2010.

Jay has a particular interest in corporate governance, accountability and transparency.  She is a member of the Open University’s International Advisory Board, is a former member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Accreditation and Standards Committee and has completed research on the democratic governance and accountability of public bodies and media, power and the policy process.

Jay is an IoD Fellow and Chartered Director, a CIPR Fellow and Chartered PR Practitioner and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.  She holds Masters degrees from UCL and the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.
